One of the few places that show how it can be done in Tulum..to make you feel at home..in the nature, in wooden Cabañas with birds singing in the morning in the jungle garden.
And most important : run by a Mexican family ! No Boutique, Spa, Fency Hotel..which open up all over Tulum.
You have your own hammock in your patio or balcony and can chill out, not far from the city centre and walking distance to great places to eat.
The staff is extremely friendly and laid back.
Stay there…you won’t regret it !
I ‘d love to come back !

We loved our stay at Sonido del Mar! The hotel is very charming. The vibe was exactly what we were looking for. Paola and her staff were super nice and helpful – and super kid friendly. We loved the location: close to the center but in a quiet street (easy access and walking distance from nice restaurants). The beach is a bit further but you can bike there or easily go by car (free parking in front of the hotel). We would go again to Sonido del Mar. Thank you!

The hotel is small but very well decorated in rustic/boho style. I would describe the atmosphere as “chilled boho beach party” with a fresh, airy vibe and a touch of the jungle. Great for photos.
– Clean
– Nice and helpful staff
– The location is between town and beach area (around 5-10min. by car to each of these locations).
– Two swimming pools, one located just below the treetops.
– The restaurant is simple but food is good.
– Nice TV with Netflix on it.
– Branded aircon.
– Ceiling fan with lots of functions.

The natural setting is very relaxing. We had all the facilities we needed for our family of four – use a fully working kitchen was a big bonus. The kids (aged 11 and 8) loved the hammocks, bunk beds, pool, playground, jungle creatures – they were in paradise. Personally, I loved falling asleep and waking up to the sounds of the jungle. Quentin, the owner, is an amazing host – super friendly and eager to help with local insights, hints and tips.
We liked it so much, we decided to book for another stay!

Is Tulum a safe place to bring children?
Tulum is renowned for its white-sand beaches, expansive Mayan ruins, clear cenotes, and glitzy social scene, but it’s also a fantastic family destination with lots of entertaining things to do in Tulum with kids.

Is it preferable to stay in Tulum’s city or by the beach?
Those on a tight budget, those staying for an extended period of time, or partygoers who value convenience to bars and nightlife should consider staying in Tulum town; if you can afford it, however, the beach zone offers the most memorable Tulum experience.
Is Tulum or Cancun superior?
Although both Cancun and Tulum can provide a wonderful family vacation, the two places offer different experiences. Cancun is larger and busier, while Tulum is smaller and quieter. There are more options for activities in Cancun, but some families may prefer Tulum’s quieter beaches.
Can children enter cenotes?
They’re all basically swimming holes in the middle of the jungle, so it’s hard to get more kid friendly than that. Surprisingly, most people aren’t aware that most cenotes are surprisingly kid friendly.
Cancun is more secure than Tulum?
Crime rates Tulum is much safer than some of the other cities in the country, including Cancun, despite the fact that Mexico is known for its brutal gang wars (which are surprisingly common throughout the world, from Japan to Italy).
Do resorts at Dreams allow children?
Children are welcome at Dreams Resorts and Spas, which all have a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere and offer exciting, supervised activities to keep the little ones entertained.
How long should you spend in Tulum?
There is so much to do and see in Tulum that you won’t want to leave, so I would suggest staying there for at least 5 days and as long as a month if you can.
How long is enough time in Tulum?
A minimum of three days should be ideal for experiencing Tulum’s vibrant culture, upscale nightlife, and the majority of the famous cenotes, ruins, and beaches. Once here, you’re not going to want to leave, so plan on spending at least three days there.
When is the ideal season to visit Tulum?
Warm, sunny days and cool nights lure visitors to Tulum for beach time, yoga retreats, and multi-day music festivals from December to April, the peak travel season for this location. The temperate climate also makes it ideal for sightseeing.
Which month is ideal for traveling to Tulum?
Although Tulum experiences its hottest temperatures between June and August, we believe that visiting Tulum between November and April is preferable for sightseeing because the temperature is still warm but not oppressively so, allowing you to explore the cenotes and ruins without becoming uncomfortable.
Avoiding what in Tulum?
Avoiding Bad Neighborhoodsbr> br> The less popular city center is neither more nor less safe than the tourist areas, and the popular tourist areas of South Tulum, the Hotel Zone, and near the Mayan ruins have all equally seen the uptick in violence.
Are families safe in Tulum?
Families will find Tulum, Mexico to be extremely safe, and there are lots of fun things to do with the kids there, like exploring ruins, going to cenotes, and playing on the beach.
