JetBlue’s well-regarded Mint business class scores high marks for its food and beverage offerings.

Early in the pandemic, the New York-based carrier unveiled a partnership with the Delicious Hospitality Group, the renowned restaurant group behind popular New York spots such as Ada’s Place and Charlie Bird.

While JetBlue had already been offering top-notch fare in Mint, the upgraded culinary experience helped take the product to the next level. In addition to tasty food, the carrier added touches of first-class service, such as cocktails shaken and poured at your seat and light canapes as appetizers.

Now, the airline is changing things up once again. While the food will still be catered by DHG, flyers will experience new picks from the menus and chefs at Legacy Records.

Beginning Aug. 1, travelers flying in Mint business class, both domestically and to and from London, will enjoy Mediterranean-inspired dishes from all-new menus.

The menus feature a rotating selection of seasonal small plates (and desserts), such as crab fregola salad and roasted chicken and cavatelli.

You can always take a look at the Mint menu for your flight on JetBlue’s dedicated webpage, which is updated each month (and will reflect the new Legacy Records menu in the coming days). The menus vary by time of day and route.

As you’ll see, the airline also recently debuted allergen symbols on its menus, which is perfect for those with dietary restrictions and aversions.

JetBlue and DHG first teamed up in late 2020, with the first menus curated by the group’s popular Charlie Bird restaurant, followed by Pasquale Jones in 2021.

For JetBlue, the timing of the Legacy Records launch coincides perfectly with the debut of transatlantic service from Boston. The airline’s flight from Boston Logan International Airport (BOS) to London Gatwick Airport (LGW) takes off Aug. 4, followed by service to London’s Heathrow Airport (LHR) commencing Sept. 20.

JetBlue will deploy its new Airbus A321LR on its new long-haul flights. This jet is outfitted with two extra-spacious Mint Studios, 22 revamped Mint suites, 24 extra-legroom Even More Space seats and 90 standard economy seats.

Even if you’re traveling domestically on one of JetBlue’s older Airbus A321 aircraft, you’ll still be able to enjoy the new Mint menus beginning in August.

While much of the focus is on JetBlue’s business-class “soft product,” it’s worth mentioning that the airline continues to offer some of the best food in coach on its new transatlantic flights.

Flyers headed to or from London are treated to a build-your-own meal from Dig. You can choose one main course such as charred chicken, meatballs or roasted mushrooms, which is served alongside two side dishes of your choice, including popular picks such as asparagus and macaroni and cheese.

The airline also serves a delicious ice cream treat after the main meal. Travelers seated in economy are also welcome to visit the walk-up pantry at the back of the aircraft, which is stocked with drinks and packaged snacks.

On JetBlue, are sandwiches permitted?

While it’s true that you can bring snacks on a plane, keep in mind that items you spread on bread, like mayo or mustard, are fine in sandwich form, but you can’t bring a big jar through security unless it’s under the TSA’s liquid limits.

A two-hour flight includes food, right?

Can you bring food in Ziploc bags on a plane?

TSA officers may advise travelers to separate items from carry-on bags such as foods, powders, and any materials that can clutter bags and obstruct clear images on the X-ray machine. Solid food items (not liquids or gels) can be transported in either your carry-on or checked baggage.

Can I bring food in my bag on the plane?

Yes, you are allowed to bring food in your carry-on or checked bag, but keep in mind that all food must pass through an x-ray inspection and that liquids, gels, and aerosols must adhere to the 3-1-1 liquids rule. TSA officers have the final say as to what is allowed into the secured areas of the airport.
