Seriously!!! Wow!!! Such an amazing national park. This was our first trip to Washington state and we loved it! My wife and I hiked the silver falls trail. Unfortunately the park was closed for the winter, but we were still able to hike into the park. We will definitely be returning in the summer to enjoy the entire national park

This is a gorgeous breathtaking national park that I had the opportunity to travel to back in 2019 and would love to go back. Every view seem to be more gorgeous than the first. I loved taking pictures here but they didn’t do justice to the immense beauty. It’s God country and would highly recommend going here if you hare ever in the area or just make a trip here to see it and hike the area.

One of the most scenic drives I’ve been on—I’ve been to most of the lower 48. This park is massive, not overly crowded and a nature photographers paradise. All times of day, all lighting, it just stands out like one giant masterpiece of snowy peaks and lush wooded passes. If you get the chance to go, do not hesitate.

Located in the southeastern part of the state, Twin Falls has a high desert climate, but it’s proximity to the Snake River means it has abundant access to water. Driving across the Perrine Bridge that spans the Snake River Canyon at sunset was one of the coolest entrances we’ve ever had to a new city.

This museum is absolutely huge.. I spent an hour there and that wasn’t even close to enough time. I would suggest planning on 2 hours and it’s worth the time. The exhibits are wonderfully put together showing how life was back in the day. Lots of local history and cultural information with great artifacts.. I would suggest this place to anyone who appreciates history..

4th grade field trip with my son was fun here! Volunteer Chuck was very informative and kept the students very in gaged during his presentations at all the exhibits!

We were driving and I spotted the open signs. It said they were only open another 30 minutes. I expected it to be a small area we could easily get through. The amazing woman in the gift center worked with us when we realized it was much bigger. Told us all about the Oregon trail program in the summer. We will definitely be back!

This is a wonderous place to visit. If you ate lucky you may see Big Horn Sheep, Elk or Deer on your way in or out and while there you may spot some Bilky Goats on the canyon walls. The road in is 40 mph with some vert tight 20 mph corners and in places the canyon walls lean over the road way.

Great out of the way spot, one way in, one way out, if your there for a good hike, just take the path down river. It will go for many miles, with large canyons and some old home sites to find in the draws. The trail has great views from far above the water to waters edge, good fishing and swimming along the trail. Poison ivy and some rattlers Do reside along this route.
Neat little unknown spot that must be reached from the Ida side!

Right by the dam. Halfway spot for our jet boat ride. Had a nice lunch. It could use just a little more shade. It was only 107 degrees, so more shade would be sweet.

Stunning views across Payette Lake, wooded trails lead you to rocky beaches perfect for picnics and swimming. Don’t forget your cooler and floaty, the water is clear and the sun is shining.

Dizzy Duzz Ponderosa State Park!

Such a beautiful spot to camp. The lake is clear and gorgeous and the grounds are clean as well. Plenty of little spots to camp, either in tents, cabins, or your RVs. The day use area is big and open too.

This park is really wonderful. We try to go every summer and stay at the cabins, but it can be hard to book them. It usually requires booking exactly 6 months in advance at midnight for holiday weekends. There is nice beach shoreline right behind the visitor center. There are a lot of really great biking and hiking trails all throughout the peninsula that this park occupies. Wildlife are common: foxes, deer, woodpeckers, squirrels, etc. The deer seem a bit too comfortable with being near humans and vehicles, as seen in the pictures.

A wonderful hot springs! Road going in is pretty rough. Best to drive a 4WD truck. Lots of potholes. But its so worth it! CASH only! Bring towels or $3 towel rental. Bring lock for locker. Need covid vaccination card. I shall return!

This hot spring gem is hiding in the forest. The establishment is very clean and much easier to access than the nature hot spring spots. Visited on March 2022, with fee $10 per person. Close on Tuesday, other days hour is noon to 8pm. Might have hard time to reach on phone, but front desk lady is very friendly. The road leads to the hot spring is very bumpy, could be changeling with sedan.

Friendly staff, loved that they help protect us against COVID. We are fully vaccinated! Water was wonderful. Relaxed atmosphere. It snowed on us and then cleared before we left. So beautiful ❤️

Planes & flying memorabilia from WWI to the jet era are on display at this aviation museum.

Slide 1 of 3

I visited for the Kilroy Coffee event and had the wonderful and fleeting opportunity to meet and listen to several WWII veterans share their stories. I also met with many other veterans that served our great nation. The museum is great to walk around and just immerse yourself in history…not to mention, the team at the Warhawks Museum records Veterans stories so that they are preserved. We saw a safe that had thousands of discs, each representing a veteran.

Just 20 min outside of boise. $14 entrance fee for adults. Worth it! We spent about 1.5 hours but could have spent more. A lot to read through. Many personal artifacts donated to make this place come to life. Local history. Planes to look at. Planes are functional and we learned they fly out every year in August. Many items in the gift shop. Restrooms in site. Wheelchair handicap accessible.

What a great collection of WWII memorabilia and aircraft! The museum is a must see if you are in the area. The air show was like being in a time machine. The old fighter planes, the folks in period dress and the knowledgeable announcers made the day complete. The addition of the F-35 Demo Team was pretty cool too. Highly recommended!

Whitewater Rafting with Cascade Raft & Kayak – Possibly the highlight of our entire trip through Idaho, we did a half day rafting trip with Cascade Raft & Kayak and had an absolute blast. We rafted down the south fork of the Payette River, which contained an exhilarating mix of class III & IV rapids and proved to be the perfect introduction for us. For more experienced rafters, the nearby north fork is apparently a nonstop class V rodeo ride from start to finish. Even if you’re a little hesitant, we would definitely recommend checking out Cascade.

Boise 7 days itinerary: The Gem of the West: Our 7 Day Idaho Road Trip

Such an awesome place! We had our church youth group so the ropes course and rafting. This family-owned business was SO accommodating. Package included ropes course, which was amazing, lunch, and then whitewater rafting. Their facilities are great and include lockers to keep your things safe, picnic tables, lots of grass to relax, souvenir shop, and overall fun staff. The photos they took of the group turned out great too. Highly recommend for family, church, or corporate retreat.

Our family has been floating the Main Payette with friends for years, but this was our first experience using a guide or doing the South Fork, and it could not have been a better experience.

Prior to the excursion, Cascade kept in touch through frequent emails letting us know what to expect and how to prepare. The morning of, the staff was very friendly and let us know what to expect. The bus ride up to the put-in site wasn’t bad at all (one of the guides provided comic relief and commentary along the way). After getting geared up and going through a safety briefing, we split into our boats, meet our guides and hit the river.

What really made this trip incredible was our amazing guide, Amparo “AJ”. She is AWESOME! She knows a ton about whitewater, the local flora and fauna, history of the river, interesting sites along the way, (and Tolkien)! She shared her knowledge, gave great feedback, and made the entire trip amazing. We are definitely planning another trip with her!

The entire day was perfect. We had a great lunch, complete with appetizers (prepared by our guides), stops for photos and river jumping, and another entertaining bus ride (with drink service) back to the Cascade office. All in all, we had a wonderful day with stories and memories we will cherish for years to come.

I HIGHLY recommend that if you want a great adventure to check out Cascade Raft & Kayak.

Upon arrival, the guides help us select the gear that we wanted to wear (wet suits, dry wear, etc.). Then we hopped on the bus for a trip up the mountain to our drop off location.

Midday, all the guides stopped at a central location and made everyone lunch. Can I say that I was extremely impressed with what they prepared and served. Appetizer – lunch – dessert was on the menu.
**they were very environmentally friendly with trash bags and direction of saving the cans for recycling**

Truly loved this place! The staff is amazing and pricing is great for every budget and most importantly the entry feed goes to feeding the birds there and to help save endangered species like the California Condor through the sites breeding facilities! Amazing and informative place to visit with awesome displays of the birds housed here, such as the one I attended where the falcon flew around the room you’re inside while the staff member explained the bird and the things the fund is doing to save the falcon and other birds of prey from extinction! I highly recommend this place for everyone to visit! If you can visit I highly encourage you to go to their website and donate money to help these birds survive and thrive well into the future!

My in laws were visiting from out of town and love birds so we thought we would take them to the Birds of Prey and it was great! The birds there are just so beautiful. Make sure to go there when there is a show. They bring out different birds and it’s a very amazing educational experience.

I loved this Center so much that I purchased a Family Annual Pass! Being up close to a Bald Eagle was amazing in itself, but watching them fly?!? Mind blowing!
We were able to see 2 presentations as well, done by the volunteers & staff. Very knowledgeable and willing to answer questions. Enjoyed the indoor museum as well. So much information and birds of prey to see… both alive and taxidermies. Great gift shop as well! Unique, fun family adventure!

Very informative tour guide.

Our guide was very animated with his stories about the prisoner life. Some of his stories have me goosebumps.

After the tour when everyone left, we asked about if there have been any paranormal events. That’s when it got really interesting.

Highly recommended.

So awesome! So much history. Plus so much to explore. Best part is they let you your the prison by yourself, and have information plastered all over the place. Definitely worth the price. Gift shop is a tad speedy. But overall an amazing experience😁

Had a great time visiting during Halloween weekend. Lots of great history here. I would highly recommend going. You can have a guided tour or just free roam on your own too.

The Springs

Resort hotel

Nature & Parks

Day spa featuring natural hot spring pools, a steam room, massages & a cafe serving light fare.

Slide 1 of 3

I usually don’t post reviews, but we had the BEST time at the Springs for a relaxing day! We booked a private hot springs tub, and it was amazing. The staff was great, it was so clean and nice, and the space is beautiful! Highly recommend 🙂

This place only takes reservations, to limit crowds, and also to probably reduce refusing people. We stayed at The Pines the night before and was able to get a reservation for us 5 because of our hotel stay. The sauna/steam room was closed, they are not open during the evenings (which is my favorite), and you’re not allowed to use the hair dryer when there’s an excess of people in the changing room. We brought our own towels. They don’t lend towels due to covid. I believe some are available for purchase. It was clean, the service was really good, the staff are very professional and friendly. The menu items are delicious, drinks are super yummy! It was a beautiful day. The water was perfectly warm and clean. I’ll go again!!

We went to the public pool and it was nice to be in such a serene place. It was also awesome to have poolside food and drink services with alcohol options as well as free ice water around in different locations. You can’t bring your own alcohol or food but the choices they offer are fair. If you are really hungry, eat before you go. The food is light.

Bruneau Dunes State Park

State park

Nature & Parks

Campground

Expansive park offers hiking & equestrian trails, plus water/sand sports, an observatory & camping.

Slide 1 of 3

Been there two different times. I still find it amazing how all the sand got here. (I have a couple photos of the signs that talk about it) Climbed one of the hills the first time we went and caught an epic sunset. (Check out the photos) Then checked out the water with my kids the next time we were in the area. Be careful when it’s hot out the sand in very hot. There are warning signs about it. It would be amazing to see the stars here on a clear night. Please pick up trash if you see it and leave it better than you came. Help preserve these places for future generations.

Did I know Idaho had sand dunes? Nope. Did anyone know they had dunes? Probably not. Let me tell you though… they were insanely amazing! I hiked one of the smaller ones, and I thought I was in decent shape, but the dune proved otherwise. It’s October so it was a little chilly and VERY windy. I was afraid if I climbed a bigger one, I would have been blown all the way back to the East coast. As amazing as the dunes were, the surrounding trails and lake offered even more breathtaking views. I saw a lot of ducks, geese, birds and flowers. I was in total awe of the whole experience. Idaho has definitely proved its more than just a flyover state. Can’t wait to come back and explore it more during a different time of year!

Beautiful and quiet , stargazing is spectacular! The camp grounds are great, big spaces with fire pit , table and BBQ grill, 50 amp, water with dump station as you leave park. Great trails for hiking and horse back. Observatory is great for kids and adults !! Rock hunting , fishing and bird watching …..summer is warm !! Hot in fact be prepared for weather extremes! Can be very wendy !! Enjoyed this park !!

Sun Valley Lodge

Upscale hotel in a mountain resort offering restaurants & bars, plus golf courses & a spa.

Slide 1 of 3

We’ve been to the lodge before, but we wanted to bring our adult children to experience Sun Valley. Stayed at the Lodge and the experience was just as good as the last time we visited almost 4 years ago. The outdoor pool is awesome as it’s heated to 95 degrees! Visited the SPA and pampered ourselves. Rooms were very nicely updated. We will be back for more of the resort and the skiing.

Don’t forget to use Hᴏᴛᴇʟʙᴏʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏᴍ when booking your place. This web site will compare thousands of booking web sites and usually will have prices much cheaper than others! Thank me later! This resort is the best rated in this area. I’ve been coming here for a very long time. If you stay for a few days you for sure won’t be let down.

The ki g room was wonderful. This was off-season and we loved every aspect. Reserve your pool time. The Konditorei restaurant was great.

Outstanding! The fairly recent remodel of the lodge has kept the wonderful feel of the history of this beautiful place at the same time adding to its five-star appeal.
The wonderful diversity of the people working here is the base of Sun Valley Resort’s world-class service.

Miracle Hot Springs

Hot spring hotel

Nature & Parks

Campsite with RV sites, canvas domes & group tent areas at geothermal spring pools.

Slide 1 of 3

One of the best hot springs we’ve been to!
We took some advice and booked a private room/pool here and it was incredible. Not only do you have your own space to change but you have your own person hot spring! The best touch is that you can adjust the temperature by turning the knobs to release hot or cold water. One side of the pool is deep and one side is shallow because of the stairs so you can choose how you want to relax. An hour was plenty of time for 2 of us but I would consider booking the pool for longer if I came with a group. Once our hour was up, we went to check out the general admission pools and they were pretty packed with families so getting a room was the best decision we made for the day! Staff was friendly and it felt clean. We can’t wait to come back! It’s also not hard to get to, especially when it’s snowing so we loved the drive! And there’s no hiking! Just pull into the parking lot!

Absolutely awesome. No more RV campgrounds available. The hot springs is really amazing with four different temperatures pools. Reasonable price and highly recommended for anyone just wanted to relax. They also have private pool and they’re usually pretty full. If you prefer to use the private pool, highly recommended to call advanced to reserve one. Otherwise public pools is fabulous.

Enjoyed a vip private pool, very nice! Best cash I have spent in a long while! We were there around 5-6pm and it was nice and quiet one or two couples swimming in the main pool. One thing I noticed by 6 private rooms were completely booked. So if you plan on getting a private room book ahead of time. 1hr goes too quick 👍👍

Landmark spot boasts tours in underground lava caves with ice formations, plus a museum & gift shop.

Slide 1 of 3

Our tour guide, Abby, was so sweet and did such a great job teaching us new facts about the Shoshone Ice Cave, the people who lived there and the different layers of lava at the cave entrance! The gift shop and museum is really nice too! Definitely worth the trip especially for only $12! The walk is as good as going down into a cave can be so people with bad knees might have some trouble and need to consider that before making the trip. Definitely bring a light jacket! 10/10 guys! Thank you!

Unique experience . This is privately owned but still worth the trip.
there is a little bit of a hike over lava rock to the opening, Inside temperature when I visited was about 24 degrees (F). Our guide was named Mya. She did a great job and was well informed. Part way through the tour, she sang a song for us to illustrate the acoustics in the cave, She did a great job!

It’s a pretty cool place. Our guide was a very talented teenager. She made the tour fun and knowledgeable

Late Summer – Snow pack will have melted off, allowing you to explore nearly all backcountry trails – however, the potential for wildfire is also greater. Rivers will be lower, warmer, and mellower, good for beginners to try out whitewater rafting. In general, waterfalls will be lower throughout the state and Shoshone Falls will be turned off completely due to seasonal damming.

Boise 7 days itinerary: The Gem of the West: Our 7 Day Idaho Road Trip

Shoshone falls park is absolutely worth the drive, worth the stop!! It is a gorgeous view, a beautiful grounds for having a picnic lunch, has restrooms to use, dog friendly, has a gift shop, and you can order lunch, snacks & drinks! The gal working the gift shop was SO nice! She was friendly, efficient, and down to earth. The view of the falls is spectacular, and we even made some new friends!

Overall, I highly recommend stopping her for a while to visit and take in the beautiful views!

Shoshone Falls was quite the surprise for me! We were in town visiting some friends, so we decided to go check out the falls along the way. This is one of the only places I have ever seen a double rainbow in all my years of being in nature so that was a very nice surprise to see! The falls can get a little busy, but they weren’t bad moving around and taking pictures. There are a number of birds that fly down near the falls as well so you can get some great shots with the double rainbow going over the falls. This is a must see if you are in the area!

Excellent Views!! Fun for everyone!! Incredible History!! The water wasn’t flowing heavy yet! But it was real neat to see it in this state!! (Before they release the water!) Always Love to frequent this Magical place!! New views every time you go!!

Museum of Clean

Modern museum showcasing exhibits on historic cleaning techniques & tools, with brooms, tubs & more.

Slide 1 of 3

The Museum of Clean is a really fun experience. The displays are clever and informative, with just enough “potty humor” to please even the most conservative of crowds. There are lots of interactive displays that leave you wondering just how anyone managed to have a clean house before a fusion vacuum and modern plumbing. The museum imparts the idea of being clean, not just how to clean. Definitely a worthwhile visit if you have a free afternoon.

Most highly recommend this delightful, unique museum! You will not regret it! They also have things for children. I loved all the history and creativity found there. Thanks Don for your vision to a truly enjoyable place. I took over 100 pictures, but here are some. I loved the sculptures, art gallery, clean orchestra, the vacuum floor, etc!

May not have been something I was terribly interested in, but once I stepped inside this huge museum, the passion of the owner, Don Aslett was quite apparent. He has dedicated his life to building a world wide cleaning Co, writing books, and collecting thousands of rare cleaning items such as vacuums, brooms, mops, etc. and placing them on display. The staff was very friendly and as a Harvest Host guest, we are thankful for the night’s stay.

Lava Hot Springs Foundation World Famous Hot Springs

Natural hot springs offering several outdoor pools with different temperature levels, plus a shop.

Slide 1 of 3

This place was very wonderful.

The nice thing is they have pools with different temperature for 105 to 112 degrees F.

The have indoor and outdoor lockers the indoor lockers are smaller than the outdoor ones

The out door locker can fit a large gym bag the cost of the large locker is 1$ and the indoor locker is 50 cents.

I went to this place 2 times in the last week on our family road trip. I found it very clean and well maintained with the amount of people that go through there. It has a ton of visitors each day I was there. We did bring 3 of our children and they all liked it as well. There are strict rules about splashing and actual swimming etc. Which I find nice for the atmosphere it’s trying to breed. Would definitely suggest going there I’d you are able to.

It’s my first time going to a hot spring and I was surprised at how fun it was. The hotest pool was at 115 degrees, while the coolest one was at 105, it was nice with the weather being so cold to have the two temperature s balance out.

February visit. Binoculars mandatory. See those black dots on the far ice? They are the bald eagles that you won’t see without binoculars. And you will see a lot at certain times. If you are fortunate you will catch one in flight soaring high above. On the way to the loop you may see one on a post so look around as you drive there. We saw two single ones, two groups of two, one group of five that would have made a great photo, many farther away. Thanks to the employee, new to Utah from KY, we changed our mind to take the drive to where bald eagles had been seen. We were able to see 20-30 total — a sight we’d never enjoyed before and almost missed — so we can’t express how grateful we are to her!

Great place to see Bald Eagles and Herons. The trip from Salt Lake City is a little long, but with coffee and good company you are there it seems in no time.
If you go during the winter months, beware! The road around the refuge us a mix of CLAY, GRAVEL, DIRT AND SAND. Your car/SUV will get extremely dirty. Do not wait days to wash it. It won’t cone of once it’s solid. Use a high powered sprayer to get into every nook and cranny of your cars underside, especially the wheelhousing. I waited a week and it took 2 hours and 30 dollars to get my Tahoe looking new again.

Slide 1 of 7

If you’d rather see the Great Salt Lake that gives the city its name, it’s a 60-mile drive north to beach-rimmed Antelope Island State Park. The lake is far saltier than the sea, which makes floating in it easy, but you’ll probably have to share the water with rather pungent-smelling brine shrimp. More pleasant is a walk through its peaceful wilderness, home to free-roaming bison (the spectacular roundup is in late October), mule deer, antelope and bighorn sheep, as well as a profusion of migratory birds. Time permitting, linger to see the mountains rendered into silhouette as the sky reddens.

Salt Lake City 3 days itinerary: A perfect weekend in Salt Lake City

White-sand beaches, birds and buffalo are what attract people to the pretty, 15-mile-long Antelope Island State Park. That’s right, the largest island in the Great Salt Lake is home to a 600-strong herd of American bison (buffalo). The November roundup, for veterinary examination, is a thrilling wildlife spectacle. Hundreds of thousands of migratory birds stop to feast on tiny brine shrimp along the Great Salt Lake’s shore en route to distant lands during fall and spring migrations.

This place is incredible! You only get a little glimpse of it from the freeway, but the second you enter, you realize this place is way cooler than you expected! First, they have an SR-71 inside this place! The first stealth plane that flew at 80,000 and could take photographs while flying at mach 3! SUPER COOL!!
Next, they have literally hundreds of things to look at including F-16s, an A-10, missiles, bombs, literally, more than 50 full size fighter jets, airplanes, helicopters, and more. You could spend hours here and it only feels like minutes! Plus, they are continuing to develop “Experiences” that let you go inside airplanes, missile silos (replace scaled down) and more. Slide 1 of 3

A little hard to go skiing for my first time, but once I got the hang of it, it was sooooo fun. Slopes are awesome size and just so fun and diverse. Went during the night and was absolutely amazing.

Prefer over Park City every time! We live in Florida so only ski 1-2x a year and loved Powder Mountain. First, rentals were great and so easy to get. No line and great service. Staff everywhere was smiling and chatting with us at each left, super friendly and professional. The views and trails were gorgeous, well groomed and they limit how many tickets were sold so we skied ALONE many times down various green and blue trails. Eden has a few decent restaurants but also worth the 25 minute drive to Ogden for 25th street filled with restaurants and bars.

Pretty sweet spot. We lucked out and had some of the only fresh powder they’ve seen in a few weeks. So our experience was pretty good.

Visibility was a little tough at the time towards the top.

I think most runs are ski dominate. But Main Street with minimal traffic was a snowboarders dream.

Not remotely a pro, or heavily experienced. But the run was well managed and wide open. Clocked us doing about 40 down through there.

Wait times were never longer than maybe 5 minutes, even during the busiest part of the day on a Saturday after a snow dump on Thursday night.

Not the largest park. But well managed, quality staff and well groomed runs. Highly recommend if you can get in here with fresh powder.

If you want great skiing, Snowbasin is where you should go! They take great care of their runs by grooming them regularly. Middle Bowl lift was replaced in the 2021 off season. It’s a 5 minute ride to the top!
I had so much fun my last couple of visits! I look forward to going again soon.

Superb…Fantastic experience. Very Organized. They had all kinds of Ski Slopes. Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced. 9000 feet high mountain slopes. Ski lifts or closed Gondolas to carry you up the mountain. The Resort is very popular amongst the locals. They have trained instructors. Huge gift shops with lot of items. Huge eatery, Seperate building for rentals. We took a whole day package deal along with Ski lessons and was at a good price. It is about 1 hour drive from Salt Lake City. Ample parking.
